To the treetops, that's where we'll go when the floors drop out When the ceiling falls, through the cardboard walls We can find our way to the caves Hide ourselves from the waves We've got nowhere else to go now We've got nowhere else to be We've got no one we can blame anyhow Let it ricochet, let it rattle 'round your ribcage Let it disappear, after all these years We can still find our way home Find our way on our own We've got nowhere else to go now We've got nowhere else to be We've got no one we can blame anyhow

I know you're still angry I know you're still mad You're right, I'm just jealous of you And the things that you have And I try to walk a straight line And I try all the time And I try to walk a straight I keep trying. Yeah, I know you're coming around I know you got a good thing going Out there on the edge I know you got a good thing going Out there on the edge And I try to walk a straight line I try all the time I try to walk a straight I keep trying. Yeah, I know you're coming around I know you wanna spill some blood tonight Let's do it side by side I know you wanna spill some blood tonight Let's do it side by side And I try to walk a straight line I try all the time I try to walk a straight I keep trying. Yeah, I know you're coming around

We'll shut your systems down We will shut them all We'll shut down every one We wilwill shut them down and we’ll watch as you fall We'll crush your cities now We will crush them all We'll crush them every one We wil will crush them and then we’ll watch as you fall CHORUS Every day is not the same We'll burn your buildings down We will burn them all We'll burn down every one We will burn them down and we’ll watch as you fall We’ll shut your factories down We will shut them all We’ll shut down everyone We will shut them down and we’ll watch as you fall

about

This cassette release was in the can for over three years before it finally saw release at the beginning of 2012. What took so long? Who knows. It's orange though, and that's all that matters.

Features songs from seven inch singles, outtakes, and alternate versions of a few songs. "(Let it) Ricochet" was one of the first four or five Softies songs ever and "Straight Line" was as well. The two tracks made up the first Soft Targets seven inch for RoosterCow in 2006. The version of "Systems" was also recorded during those two days at Semaphore.

A different version would later appear on our debut full-length, We Hate You Soft Targets The Monkee-fied "Don't Ask Why" was the b-side to the "The Kid's Want Action" 7". "Bitter Pill" was a weird outtake from the same recording session. "Tromboner" is what it is (that's second Soft Target drummer, Dave Potter in a phone message to Dan Kiss who went AWOL for about a week after Soft Targets Must Be Destroyed! and no one had any idea what had happened to him).

There's a slower version of "Apocalypse" with Tina Finch on backing vocals and an alternate version of "Frustration" with mulitiple guitar leads from Adam Scott. Finally, "Cylon Tina" (misspelled on the cover as "Cylon Tina"), is messin' around with her backing track to "Western Civ" from the Destroyed record.
